Look Good Feel better Update May 2025

Look Good Feel Better: Connecting, Supporting, and Looking Ahead

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Beauty Partners

With Q1 of 2025 wrapped up, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to our beauty partners who generously contributed products for our JOY cracker fundraiser. Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to fund a full month of wellbeing classes for people facing cancer across Aotearoa. Your generosity brings real impact, ensuring confidence, connection, and care remain at the heart of our programme. With plans already underway for our 2025 JOY crackers, we welcome any small-sized or mini products to help us continue this tradition of giving.

A Powerful Start to 2025

This year has begun with a record-breaking 444 Look Good Feel Better sessions planned nationwide—an incredible 66% increase from 2023. In February, at the Cosmetic NZ Innovation & Connection Conference, we were proud to see LGFB mindfulness practitioner and former beauty industry expert Renee Rigden share her journey into natural health, highlighting the importance of prioritising wellbeing and gut health.

In March, LGFB joined the powerful In Pursuit: Cancer Research & Innovation Conference in Otautahi. Alongside clinical, research, Māori, and Pasifika experts, our CEO Clare O’Higgins, joined the esteemed panel alongside David Downs, to explore the need for collaboration and taking bold action to tackle rising cancer rates.

Our Mission Continues

With cancer diagnoses projected to affect 1 in 2 people by 2030, our commitment to providing free, accessible, and practical wellbeing support has never been stronger. Thank you to our beauty partners for helping us ensure that anyone with any cancer, anywhere in Aotearoa, can access the support they need.

Last Thought

If we ever need to be reminded of the power of beauty and connection, read this feedback from a recent participant.

“We're often told that our appearance shouldn't be important to who we are as people... but when you are living with cancer and its side affects you find yourself looking in the mirror and often feeling there is a disconnect between how you feel inside and seeing what the disease has done to your reflection. It was lovely to feel the acknowledgement that getting through these tough times is a combination of many ways to support your positive approach... and this was a timely reminder that investing time in yourself, feeling like a woman again, and being accepted amongst a group who 'get it', is one important. So much more than just putting on your lippie!Thank you to everyone who made this possible and brightened my day and outlook.”
